First Things First...
1) All personal training sessions begin with a consultation meeting with our fitness specialist. This process begins with completing the following:
- Health History Form - so we can view and assess your current health and medical conditions.
- Goal & Visionary Plan - you inform us of your goals and we will help you create both a "visual" and "active" plan-of-action to reach those goals.
- Sample Workout - this sample workout gives you an idea of the program we will develop for you, while for your trainer it serves as an evaluation of your abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
2) Next, we cover all our policies and procedures so you are aware of our complete process, such as:
- Following the rules of your workout program
- Includes nutrition guidelines
- Exercise adherence
- Trainer responsibility and client accountability
- Studio policies and procedures
3) Lastly, we set up your workout schedule. This includes setting specific days and times that you will meet with your trainer for your workouts throughout the duration of your training package.
Our Service "Programs"
Service Programs are descriptions of a program's goal-specific "style" or "methodology" incorporated under the umbrella of personal training, such as; sports conditioning, athletic conditioning, interval training, circuit training, bodybuilding, post-rehabilitation and special populations.
Note: Some of these programs may command a higher fee based on additional education or certification a personal trainer may require to facilitate such a workout session.
Sports Conditioning - a training program consisting of strengthening and conditioning of an individual or individuals towards a specific sport like, soccer, basketball, hockey, or tennis, for example.
Athletic Conditioning - a training program that conditions a person for any type of sport, or recreational/physical activities. While not specific for any given sport, athletic training works on the foundations of all sport and athletic activities such as core conditioning. Core conditioning strengthens and balances supportive muscles of the abs, low back, as well as muscles in and around the joints of your body. It also includes working on your agility and skill development.
Interval Training - This method is one of the fastest and most effective ways to decrease fat while building quality muscle (i.e. useful muscle, not just "show muscles"). It consists of alternating between bouts of high intensity followed by low intensity training within the same workout. This also will give you an "afterburn" effect which means you'll continue to burn calories hours after the workout is over.
Circuit Training - is somewhat like interval training (and certainly an interval-style can be incorporated into a circuit). Circuit training consists of strategically configuring a series of exercises to be done one-after-another with little rest in-between the exercises. A circuit can be anywhere from 4 exercises in a row up to 12 or more.
Bodybuilding - is widely known as building LARGE muscles. However, it can also mean "toning" muscles as well. Building, or toning, muscles is a great way to improve your body's appearance (aesthetics) as well as an effective way to shed unwanted fat.
Post-Rehabilitation - a workout session that requires strengthening and/or reinforcement of specific muscles, tissues, tendons, joints, etc. following some type of trauma, injury, or surgery. Post-rehabilitation usually means a client that has already been evaluated and "rehabilitated" by a licensed therapist prior to seeing the personal trainer.
Special Populations - this is a term that encompasses a wide spectrum concerning clients that may require special needs. These needs can include conditions, disorders, or simply common and natural occurrences like pregnancy or effects of aging. Special populations may include, but are not limited to clients with; heart disease, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, cancer, pregnancy, osteoporosis, or clients on certain medications.
Our Service "Types"
Services Types include an explanation of the type of session such as whether a one-on-one, two-on-one, or small group session.
- One-on-One - is when an individual has a private one-to-one session with our personal trainer.
- Two-on-One - is when two clients are being trained within the same session with a personal trainer.
- Small Group - is when 3 or more clients are being trained in the same session with a personal trainer.
*Our sessions are approximately one-hour in length but may sometimes be shortened due to situational factors. An example may be if the client cannot continue on due to fatigue - which in itself can be due to several factors like, lack of sleep, poor nutrition, or stress.
